CS2 Wingman Ranks

Wingman is CS2's 2v2 mode and it has its own rank. Here's how the skill groups work and how it differs from Competitive.

What is Wingman?

Wingman is a 2v2 mode played on smaller, single-bombsite maps over a shorter MR8 format. It's faster than full 5v5 and leans heavily on individual duels, clutches and quick utility.

The Wingman skill groups

Wingman uses the same 18 skill groups as Competitive — from Silver I up to The Global Elite. The names are identical, but your Wingman rank is tracked completely separately from your Competitive and Premier ranks. You can be Master Guardian in Wingman and Gold Nova in Competitive.

Because the mode is 2v2 and the player pool is smaller, the distribution across those groups doesn't necessarily match the Competitive curve. There's no reliable public breakdown specific to Wingman, so don't assume your Wingman group means the same skill level as the same group in 5v5.

How it differs from Competitive and Premier

Is Wingman a good way to rank up?

Wingman is excellent for sharpening aim, clutch play and a couple of maps in a low-pressure setting, but it won't change your Competitive or Premier rank — those are separate ladders. Treat it as practice and a fun side mode rather than a shortcut to your main rank.

For the full 5v5 ladder, see the rank distribution and Premier vs Competitive. Check your main-mode percentile with the rank distribution tool.
